The Good Gift: Turning Celebrations Into Impact

Because the best celebrations are the ones we share.

What if your next birthday could be more than a celebration of another year? What if it could be an opportunity to support something you truly care about?

That’s the idea behind The Good Gift, a new giving program from Santa Rosa Women for Good. The program invites members to turn their birthdays and special occasions into opportunities to give back, choosing a local nonprofit and cause that reflects their own passions.

Our First Good Gift

We launched the program with the birthday of Women for Good Board President Alex Hailey. Rather than asking for traditional birthday gifts, Alex invited her friends and family to make a $35 donation to Our Village Closet, a local nonprofit supporting children and caregivers impacted by foster care.

Our Village Closet was a natural choice for Alex, who serves on the organization’s board and has seen firsthand the difference it makes for local children and families. Donations help provide everything from car seats, diapers, beds, and shoes to the fun things that give kids choices and help them feel empowered and cared for.

Together, Alex’s community raised more than $1,000, and she personally matched the donation, creating more than $2,000 in total impact for Our Village Closet.

Make Your Birthday a Good Gift

The Good Gift is designed to be personal. You choose what matters to you.

Maybe you’re passionate about animals, education, the environment, children and families, housing, the arts, or supporting your favorite local organization. Your Good Gift can reflect whatever cause is close to your heart.

Simply choose a local nonprofit, invite your friends and family to celebrate by giving, and let your special occasion create an impact that lasts far beyond your birthday.

Because your community knows what matters to you and The Good Gift gives them a meaningful way to support it with you.

We’re looking for Women for Good members who would like to be featured in an upcoming Good Gift celebration. Click here to learn more about this program and how to sign up to use your next celebration for good.
