Flowers, Friendship & Giving Back
Today a group of Women for Good members spent the day volunteering with Council on Aging, helping prepare beautiful floral arrangements for their upcoming Harvest Community Table event.
Harvest Community Table is a special fundraising event that brings the community together to celebrate and support Council on Aging’s work serving older adults throughout Sonoma County. The organization provides a wide range of programs and services that help seniors remain connected, supported, and engaged in their communities.
Our group of volunteers got to be part of the behind-the-scenes fun, working alongside the team to create floral arrangements that will be displayed and available for purchase at the event. And while we were there to lend a helping hand, we got to learn a few things too! Under the direction of a local florist, our group learned some of the basics of creating beautiful arrangements, while the Council on Aging team gave us a closer look at the programs and services they provide in our community.
Of course, there was plenty of chatting, laughing, flowers everywhere, and good company along the way.
We’re so grateful for opportunities like this that allow us to give back, learn something new, and spend time together while supporting organizations doing important work right here in Sonoma County.
What a fun way to spend a Thursday!
