Building Connection Across Generations

This weekend we were proud to support and participate in the Generations in Motion event hosted by Council on Aging at Spring Lake Regional Park.

The event brought together people of all ages for a day centered around movement, connection, wellness, and enjoying the outdoors together. Community members had the opportunity to meet local organizations, explore resources, and spend meaningful time connecting with one another in a beautiful setting.

We were grateful to be included alongside so many incredible organizations that are working every day to strengthen and support our community, and in particular to provide support and care to people as they age.

At Santa Rosa Women for Good, we often talk about the impact of collective giving. Through our grants, we are honored to support organizations doing important work throughout Sonoma County, including Council on Aging, the recipient of our Winter 2026 grant. But events like Generations in Motion are also a reminder that the impact of our organization goes beyond funding alone.

We are building community.

In a time when loneliness and isolation are affecting more people than ever before, spaces that encourage genuine connection matter deeply. Studies continue to show that many women, especially women over the age of 50, experience feelings of loneliness or lack of companionship. Creating opportunities for women to gather, connect, and build authentic friendships is not just meaningful, it is essential.

One of the things we are most proud of at Santa Rosa Women for Good is the way our community naturally creates those connections. What begins as a shared interest in giving back often turns into friendships, support systems, and a stronger sense of belonging.

Whether we are gathering at community events, volunteering together, hosting member meetings, or simply sharing conversations around a table, we are creating spaces where women can meet other kind, engaged local women and form the types of relationships that enrich lives.

Thank you to Council on Aging for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful day, and thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We are continually inspired by the power of community and connection, across generations and throughout Sonoma County.
